Sparkling Aniimo

Luminelle, moving, official art
The short answer

Sparkling is Aniimo's special colouring, and it is purely a look: a Sparkling Aniimo is not stronger. The sure way to get one is a Sparkling Cube, which always catches, always makes the Aniimo Sparkling and gives it Perfect Potential. There are three Sparkling Styles: Common (99%), Dazzling and Shadow, and Shadow only comes from eggs won in Operation: Egg Heist.

What Sparkling does and does not do

It changes the Aniimo's colours. It does not change stats: a Sparkling Aniimo caught some other way can still have Common Potential. The Perfect Potential comes from the Sparkling Cube itself, not from being Sparkling.

Prismana can be Sparkling too. A Sparkling Cube thrown at a Prismana makes it Sparkling and Perfect, and owning one unlocks the achievement Sparkling Bright.

Where to get Sparkling Cubes

  • Elite Training milestones.
  • The Outpost Vendor's Item Exchange, for Sparkling Crystals.
  • The Stamp Shop's Season tab: 500 Windborn Stamps, once you have spent 2,500 there.
  • The paid Advanced Companion Handbook: two, at levels 30 and 50.
  • Events: Set Out, Pathfinder! gives one on its seventh login day.
  • The item shop: 1,500 Lumin Crystals.
Watch out

100 Sparkling Crystals make one Sparkling Cube.

Sparkling Sigils and Pigment

Sparkling Sigils make an Aniimo Sparkling, and Sparkling Pigment rerolls the style of one that already is. Both roll the same odds: 99% Common, 0.5% Dazzling, 0.5% Shadow. It takes 10 Sigils to make an Aniimo Sparkling.

Sparkling is not Umbral

Umbral Aniimo are a different variant with their own colouring and Perfect Potential. The developers say they can appear in Wild Surges started by nurturing and, rarely, in the open world.

Is there a guaranteed Sparkling catch besides the Sparkling Cube?

Yes, this season: the Legendary Aniipod: Windchaser's Departure always catches, and the Aniimo comes out Sparkling with Perfect Potential and a trail of flowers. It costs 49 Irisalis Petals, up to 10 per account.

Why can't I see Sparkling forms in the Aniilog?

Since the 23 September update the Aniilog hides Sparkling forms you have not caught yet. The preview is due to return in a later update.
