Egg Heist map
Operation: Egg Heist has one map, the Lost Isles. You land on the Ancient Harbor beach beside your Egg Boat and search the island. Then you find the entrance to the Lost Sanctum, the maze where the egg nests are. Its orange Main Entrance leads into a shallow section, and its blue Side Entrance drops you deep inside. Either door works as an exit. Each match picks one of a fixed set of layouts, and where the blue door sits from the orange one tells you which.
A run through the map
- Land on the Ancient Harbor beach. Your team's Egg Boat waits there. It's where you hand in eggs and leave.
- Loot the island on the way. Beach Aniimo, wooden chests and debris piles are a safer way to earn than the Sanctum.
- Pick a Sanctum door. The orange Main Entrance leads into a shallow section. The blue Side Entrance drops you deep inside, nearer the valuable rooms and the harder fights.
- Clear a nest room's guards before you dig, because enemies keep attacking while you dig or search.
- Twine with the egg to roll it out. Activate the Destination Mechanism to open the exit. Here's a tip: pin the exit before you pick the egg up.
- Last, hand the egg to the Egg Boat and choose Safe Evacuation.
How to tell which layout you are in
Each match picks one of a fixed set of Sanctum layouts. The rooms and doors never move. But what's in each room is picked fresh every match.
Want to know which layout you're in? Check the compass direction of the blue Side Entrance from the orange Main Entrance. Sometimes two layouts share a direction. Then the distance between the doors tells them apart.
Normal has eight layouts, Hard has six, and Nightmare and Chaos share seven.

| Blue door from the orange door | Distance between the doors | Egg nests | Locked rooms (chance of an extra nest) |
|---|---|---|---|
| North | 52 m in a line, 241 m walking | 2 | 1 (16%) |
| Northeast | 120 m in a line, 190 m walking | 2 | 1 (16%) |
| East | 40 m in a line, 40 m walking | 3 | 1 (25%) |

| South | 81 m in a line, 102 m walking | 3 | 1 (16%) |
| South | 52 m in a line, 221 m walking | 2 | 1 (16%) |
This comes from the game's own layout data. A locked room can roll an extra egg nest. The percentage is the chance that it does.

Keys for locked rooms
| Difficulty | Key |
|---|---|
| Normal | Rusted Iron Key |
| Hard | Silver-Plated Key |
| Nightmare and Chaos | Gilded Key |
You can find keys on the island. A Mysterious Vendor can also open a black market during a run. It sells keys, but for a higher price.
What to watch for
- Traps: floor spikes and wall jets hit for 500 to 1,000 each. Jets can push you onto spikes. Watch out: traps still hit you while you carry an egg.
- Fog hides most of the Sanctum map. You see even less of it on harder difficulties.
- More Aniimo arrive as a run goes on, and digging up rare eggs brings dormant ones to you. Here's a tip: visit nests and locked rooms early, while they're safest.
- Control effects don't work on the Umbral Stellarys Alpha, because it's immune to them.
- Erlath supports its group, so defeat it first.
- Some pillars and mechanisms only respond to a matching element. For example, Magmarex breaks cracked walls and lights fire pillars.
