Egg Heist Chaos Mode
Chaos Mode is the hardest difficulty in Operation: Egg Heist. It opened on 24 September and unlocks at the rank Elite Egg Seeker IV. Every run costs a Chaos Ticket, and you can buy up to 20 a day. It drops far more Prismana Aniimo Eggs and Prismatic Collectibles than the other difficulties. Ultra-rare Secret Collectibles can turn up too. To escape, your team needs more Eggshell Coins than on other difficulties, but you don't need to hand in an egg. So go in as a team.
How to unlock it
- Clear Normal. It's open from the start.
- Reach Rising Egg Scout III to open Hard, then clear it.
- Next, get to Pro Egg Snatcher IV to open Nightmare. Clear that one too.
- Once you reach Elite Egg Seeker IV, Chaos opens. Bonus: the rank-up rewards include Chaos Tickets. The mode screen recommends Epic gear.

What it pays
Chaos drops far more Prismana Aniimo Eggs and Prismatic Collectibles than the other difficulties. It's also where ultra-rare Secret Collectibles can appear.
Its reward preview shows the Mysterious Prismana Egg and the Large Umbral Aniimo Egg. It also shows the Collector's Editions of the Evercrystal Egg and the Rose Thorn Blade.
Bonus: since 30 September, Stellarys also drops more Starine on Chaos.
Why it feels so hard
Wild Aniimo don't all appear at the start of a run. More arrive as it goes on. Digging up rare Aniimo Eggs or Rare Treasure also wakes up sleeping Aniimo and draws them to you. The developers say they haven't changed any spawn chances. They're checking reports of Aniimo that won't let you get away, in case it's a bug.
Sometimes an Erlath that supports its group turns up in Egg Heist. Defeat it first, so it can't help the others.
Watch out: if you faint, you lose everything in your backpack and everything equipped for the run. That's why teammates who can rescue you matter most here.
What the developers are changing
- More Aniimo that suit Egg Heist, so you have more team options.
- More ways to get Chips. This includes new sources of Heal Chips, and Chips that make melee combat better.
- Mechanisms and certain Aniimo inside the Sanctum that give you temporary abilities.
- Easier rescues of downed teammates, plus rewards for the player who helps.
- Future very hard content that you can choose to play, like the current Limited-Time Challenge, with reasonable rewards.
- A major update each season, and smaller updates every two weeks. These bring new Aniimo, drops and small balance changes.
Every Chaos run costs a Ticket. If you faint, you lose everything you carry, so don't go in alone.
