Alphas and Omegas

Alphas are oversized overworld bosses. You cannot catch one while it is standing: defeat it first, and a common Alpha then has a 6% base catch chance, so throw an Aniipod Ultra or a Sparkling Cube to guarantee it. Claiming an Alpha's rewards costs 30 Primegy, and each Alpha drops its element's evolution stone or held items. Omegas are harder weekly bosses that can never be caught; they leave a reward chest instead.
Catch an Alpha
- Bring Aniimo at or above the level the Alpha asks for, and learn its big attack so you can dodge it.
- Defeat the Alpha.
- In the catch window that follows, throw an Aniipod Ultra or Sparkling Cube. Both always succeed; the free Aniipod you are given rarely does.
- Pay 30 Primegy to claim the rewards. A failed catch still pays out once you pay, and walking away costs nothing.

Held-item drop odds by title
| Your title | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Rookie | 100% | 0% | 0% |
| Student I | 100% | 0% | 0% |
| Student II | 100% | 0% | 0% |
| Student III | 75% | 25% | 0% |
| Wayfarer I | 75% | 25% | 0% |
| Wayfarer II | 75% | 25% | 0% |
| Wayfarer III | 0% | 80% | 20% |
| Trailblazer I | 0% | 80% | 20% |
Farming held-item Alphas pays off most from Wayfarer III.
What a repeat clear is worth
Repeat drops scale with your title rather than your level. On Alpha Panpanta every tier pays Safaris x150 and Windborn Stamps x10, the Wave Stone count steps from two to three at Wayfarer III, and Credits climb from 4,000 at the bottom of the ladder to 12,000 at Trailblazer II.
A first clear is a different bundle, paid once on top of the key drop: Glimmer x50, Safaris x500, one Irisalis Petal and one Breezy Plains Lumin Amber. Alpha Rookey and Alpha Luminelle pay larger quantities than the rest.
One Alpha is walled off rather than just hard. Alpha Geoclaw in Nimbus Fields sits behind vines that only clear once 120 Lumin Amber has been infused into the Breezy Plains Branch.
Primegy
Primegy is the energy you spend to claim Alpha and Omega rewards: 30 each time. It refills one point every six minutes up to 300, and you can top it up with Glimmer or a Primegy Battery, which restores 60.
Omega bosses
| Omega | Type | Area | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Omega Tuckin | Grass | The Mistwoods | Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal |
| Young Omega Sherro | Water | Echoback Landing | Star Dust, Star Sand |
| Omega Infergon | Fire | Russet Highlands | Starcryst Essence |
Each Omega can be fought three times a week. Omegas also drop Psyche Fruit.
Alphas and evolution
Several evolutions need a specific Alpha or Omega beaten first. Flameruff only becomes Scorchhowl after Alpha Scorchhowl, and Hummin only becomes Tuckin after Omega Tuckin. The evolution guide lists every one.
Achievements for bosses
- You're Gonna Need a Bigger Aniipod: catch your first Alpha.
- Alpha Annihilator: defeat 5 Alpha or Omega Aniimo.
- Alpha Predator: defeat 20.
The encounter respawns about every 20 seconds, so you can keep fighting the same Alpha without leaving the area and coming back.
